GIFFARD à Avrillé où 15 adhérents ont profité d'une visite de la célèbre distillerie Giffard. Un guide leur a fait visiter les lieux et elle leur a raconté l'histoire de l'entreprise familiale.
La distillerie Giffard est fondée en 1885, devant le succès de ses recherches, Émile Giffard transforme sa pharmacie en distillerie et nomme sa liqueur menthe-pastille.
Quatre générations plus tard, la société est restée 100 % familiale, elle emploie aujourd'hui 100 personnes.
En 2014, une seconde usine est créée à Saint-Léger-des-Bois.

A guide showed them around and she told history of the family owned business.
Founded in 1885 by Émile Giffard, pharmacist in Angers, where he conducted research on several drinks and put on the emphasis of a liquor based on mint for refreshing and digestive reasons.
He then transformed his pharmacy into a distillery and called his liquor “mint pastille”.
The family owned business (100 per cent is owned by the Giffard family) employs about 100 employees.
A second distribution and distellery was opened in 2014 in St Léger des Bois.
